Mariko Cicilia

Violinist

Mariko Cicilia started to learn violin at age 9. After she completed her studies for the Bachelor diploma of Music Pedagogy at the Ibaraki National University, she continued her studies with Gert Reiner Schubert at the Josef Mattias Hauer Conservatory in Wienerneustadt in Austria.

In 1999 she went to the Netherlands, and continued to study with Benzion Shamir at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where she graduated for the Bachelor’s and the Master’s diploma. She had master classes for solo violin with Iliya Grubert and Reiner Honeck, and for chamber music with Donald Weilerstein, Josef Krosnik and the Daniel quartet.

She has played as a member of orchestras such as the Rotterdam Kamer Orkest, Het Promnade Orkest and other orchestras in the Netherlands, and given many concerts as a chamber musician, especially with the Duo with Diangelo Cicilia.

She has joined the concert tours in Holland during the Daniel Music Days, the Europe tour with the Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra and performed as a soloist at the Zempleni Festival in Hungary.
